Assistant Professor of Strategic Design and Management
Pedagogically, I am developing a style through research and writing, collaborating and co-creating with my peers, students and with classroom experience; pushing for high learning outcomes balanced with inspiration and enjoyable experiences.
For many of my classes, I have used project based learning methods, using cases to expand on concepts to ground the theory in practical terms. I often use a studio structure and the collaborative experience, grouping students in teams to challenge them and foster co-creation; applying the design process and creative process into most subject matter whether it has been Marketing, Portfolio or Studio.

As an alum. of Parsons and social entrepreneur, I come to NSPE and Media Studies with interdisciplinary expertise pioneering 3BL along the value chain while designing and manufacturing international lifestyle products. My work, acknowledged in press for balancing design with social/environmental perspectives, was recognized with industry awards. My collections were developed for top-tier retail companies such as Lane Crawford, Umbra, Neiman-Marcus, Harrod's, Barney's and Banana Republic. Throughout my career, I have consistently fused design methodologies with sustainable/resilience principles. As a Private Sector International Development Consultant for SMEs, I focused my design thinking and management strategies on social innovation, empowerment and community development.
Early on, I worked on a variety of high-profile architecture and product design projects in New York and Milan. In the 1990s, I taught for the Small Business Support Project offered through the U.S. Agency for International Development and at Parsons.
I recently joined the PT faculty of Parsons New School for Design’s Strategic Design Management Program, at the nexus of design thinking and business innovation, and the Graduate Program of Media Studies to continue my investigation of the convergence of design thinking, art, technology, media and education; mapping across culture and business to successfully address how design strategy is impacting innovation within resilience implementation planning through tools like digital media and technology to raise public awareness.
